Vevo Hopes To Integrate With Television As Tailor-Made Music Channel
The media company presently delivering videos from Universal, EMI and Sony has plans to become a go-to in the television sector.
The New York Post reports that Vevo is making public its plans to develop a service that will bring music videos back to television, the medium that introduced and nurtured them before casting them aside in favor of reality and competition programs.
The media company, which has already partnered with Universal, EMI, and Sony to stream videos by those labels’ artists, now hope to have an interactive system that will allow viewers to tailor a music video channel to their own tastes, built up from live clips and traditional videos.
Vevo has yet to ink deals with any cable or satellite providers, though they are working closely with developers of web-ready televisions that will make the Vevo service possible.
