Pre-“Word…Life” O.C. Recordings Come To Vinyl Release

Rare circa-1993 recordings from D.I.T.C.’s O.C. come to vinyl on No Sleep Recordings, boasting production from Buckwild and DJ Eclipse.

Diggin’ In The Crates emcee O.C. made a Hip Hop classic in 1994’s Word…Life. The New York rapper’s 1994 Wild Pitch Records debut boasted production from Buckwild and Lord Finesse, prompting a certified Hip Hop hit in “Times Up.” However, unlike D.I.T.C. brethren Fat Joe and the late Big L, O.C.’s pre-album appearances were relegated to Organized Konfusion’s “Fudge Pudge” and a rare remix of MC Serch’s “Back To The Grill.”

No Sleep Recordings is out to change that. The New York-based imprint has previously released rare recordings from the likes of The Beatnuts, Kwest The Madd Lad and Lord Finesse, and now are focused on bringing early recordings from Bushwick, Brooklyn’s O.C. to vinyl.

Ozone Originals features seven circa-1993-era O.C. tracks, boasting production from Buckwild and DJ Eclipse. The LP will cost $50, and can be purchased through NoSleepRecordings@Gmail.com.

The tracklisting is as follows:

1. OUTSIDERS [Buckwild]
2. WOULD YOU BELIEVE? [Buckwild]
3. KICK A RHYME FOR THE RECORD [Mark Pearson / John Mcgann]
4. STRETCH AND BOBBITO PROMO (intro by MC Serch) [Eclipse]

Side B
5. BROTHERS ARE FAKE [Mark Pearson / John Mcgann]
7. SUGAR [Buckwild]

Last year, O.C. and D.I.T.C. mate A.G. released Oasis.
